Although this book is aimed at a more general ‘self-improvement’ market I think it is one of the best books you can get on Hypnosis and NLP. Obviously it is aimed at helping you get more material and non-material wealth in your life and for this it is very valuable.

But as someone interested in hypnosis and NLP I’d recommend this book for the process that is outlined in it. It explores such things as limiting beliefs and the expectations you have of yourself and what effect they have on your life. Personally I found the section on limiting beliefs about wealth very illuminating.

Once again there is an excellent hypnosis CD included that you can enjoy and learn from which in itself is worth getting this book for in itself. I regularly listen to the hypnotic induction and find it just as powerful as that provided with ‘Change Your Life in 7 Days’. After reading this book you’ll realise just how much you’ve been holding yourself back from allowing wealth into your life.

Richard Bandler’s Guide to Trance-Formation: How to Harness the Power of Hypnosis to Ignite Effortless and Lasting Change

This is the second new book that Richard released in 2008 and it’s in my opinion the one you should get out of the two. It’s is a complete overview of everything you will ever need to start using NLP and Hypnosis from a beginner level right up to advanced techniques and methods.

One of the most valuable things in this book are the transcriptions of Richard’s interventions with clients, where he helps the clients get rid of various phobias and anxieties. After reading these you’ll have a much better understanding of how NLP and Hypnosis work in real life and you’ll be able to apply your knowledge much better.

Out of all Richards’ books I recommend this the most both for being comprehensive, clear and concise. This will be your reference book for years to come and after getting it you’ll never need another NLP or Hypnosis book again.

The one thing that more advanced hypnotists may not be familiar with is Richard’s Design Human Engineering techniques which have not widely disseminated in the hypnosis community beyond those that have studied with Richard or his trainers.

The book is similar to Paul McKenna’s ‘I can change your life in 7 Days’ but the advantage of that book is that it has an enclosed CD with a hypnotic induction.

I can only really recommend this book to absolute beginners and collectors.

The other day I met a man who didn’t believe there was such a thing as hypnosis or trance. He was telling me how it’s just down to picking people that are suceptible to suggestion and social pressure to perform (he was speaking about stage-hypnotism). It can be challenging to convince these kinds of people because they know how the world works and resist anything that conflicts with their world view. Now I could of course put them into trance right there and then, but that would be unethical.

By far the best introduction to hypnosis and trance is contained with this book. Don’t get me wrong, Paul McKenna’s main stream introduction to NLP is great in itself, it’s easy to read, covers all the basics you need.

But it’s the CD enclosed which is the real reason to get this book. It’s a 45 minute hypnotic induction that will put you into trance guaranteed! Some people do need to listen to it a few times, because trance is a state that you can learn and get better at the more you do it. But after two are three listens you’ll consistently go into a deep trance within 5 to 10 minutes. You’ll know that you weren’t just sleeping when you consistently ‘wake up’ to Paul saying ‘3, 2, 1, Wake Up!’

I remember listening to this CD everyday for a month, and I was constantly buzzing with enthusiasm and confidence. If you’re interested in hypnosis as a practitioner I’d highly recommend listening to this CD for ideas for your own inductions.
